The Power of Music

The power of music is undeniable. It has the ability to motivate, aggravate, instigate, resonate and placate. Music can lift your spirits or it can make the happiest moment turn somber. We remember things through music. We express ourselves through music. We sing it. We hum it. We whistle it. We play it. We dance to it. Music transcends sex, race, nationality and religious beliefs. It is truly a common denominator for all people around the world. Sure, the styles are different and what one person loves another one might hate. Regardless of preferences, music is evident all around the world in every day life.

Rarely does an hour go by when I have not spent at least a little time listening to music. In fact, there is rarely a moment of my day when I am not listening to it, or singing it, or thinking about it. For me, music is like a drug that I cannot get enough of. Depending on my mood, the type of music will change, but music is almost always present.

So today I am proud to be an active participant in the world of music. I sing it. I've played it. I dance to it. I lose myself in it without shame.
