A Rant on Women's Fashion

Thanks to recent trends in women's fashions, men now have an incredibly easy time evaluating the shape of a woman's body. We can merely take a quick glance up and down most women and see if they have a pudgy belly or firm abs, a shapeless or round butt and either small breasts or huge ones. The outfits that are being worn nowadays in even a casual work environment are enough to make a grown man want to either shield his eyes in agony or daydream about their coworkers in very unprofessional situations.

Ladies, let me tell you - we don't need any fuel added to the fire that already is our sexual minds. We could be planted at the computer all day, never leaving our chair and still have our sexual desires triggered by the mere sound of a woman's voice. Yep, sometimes it is that way.

And then there's the altogether negative aspect of the plunging necklines, low-rise pants and tight tops - they don't fit every woman. In fact, I would venture to say that over half of the woman who are wearing such clothing are not the proper shape or proportions to "pull it off". Let's be honest, we've all seen the larger female who has decided that she looks incredibly sexy - despite the fact that it took a crowbar for her to get into those low-rise jeans and she now has that forever unpleasant above the belt bulge of fat oozing from her jeans that are too tight. We've all taken note of the girl who insists upon wearing the midriff-baring shirt that only magnifies the size of her gut. Let's not be so pretentious to act like we have not all seen a woman in a plunging neckline outfit that accentuates her either her total lack of a sizeable bustline or her total lack of taste.

"They" are out there.
If you don't believe me, just take a look around a mall, a movie theater, a restaraunt, your workplace, your home or your church.

Oh yes, it's true. Evidently some people are of the thought that maybe God has forgotten what they look like so they will show as much of themselves at church as possible in order to gently remind Him. Either that or churches don't have air conditioning like they used to, because I have seen a bunch of people headed to church looking like they might be trying to stay as cool as possible in their thin, sheer tops and short, tight skirts. God made you and He knows every part of your body. Some of you He has blessed with amazing physical attributes and some of you He has not. Regardless of how attractive or sexy you appear in your outfit, I don't think God is looking for the next "Top Model" or anything like that. Oh, and there's something about not being a stumbling block to others in the Bible...

"Mother's be good to your daughters, daughters will live like you do..."
If a mom dresses like a hootchie mama, then why wouldn't her daughter do the same?
Mom's - dress like a mother and not like a sexually frustrated teenie bopper. You had your time to dress that way, but now you have a child so move on with your life.

Stop the insanity people.
If you have a great body and want to flaunt it, then these trends definitely work for you (in the right situations).
If the styles don't fit your body type or size, then just don't try to make it work for you. It's a trend - it will go away eventually.

One last note for the ladies - If you have a friend who is dressing in a style that is not flattering to her at all please let her know. She may not be able to see the butt bulge that is happening behind her. Help her out.

And for the men - We are not above fashion mistakes. In fact, there are probably a higher percentage of men who have absolutely no common sense when it comes to getting dressed than those who know what they are doing. Somehow though, our culture seems to be much more forgiving to our mistakes than to those made by women. As a quick, helpful guide though, here are a list of things you shouldn't be caught wearing: trucker hats, capri pants, full-length color ringed tube socks, and Lindsay Lohan or Nicole Ritchie.
