The Saga Continues

I read a snippet in the Post-Dispatch this morning and instantly knew I had to post about it.
Some of you may remember a little "discussion" that occurred in early January beginning on the STLbloggers page that was started by a sick, twisted and perverted man who was trying to convince people that he was not stalking a St. Louis television news anchor. My comment in response to that post, generated a message from Ricklthefox that was quickly removed from the STLbloggers site. So I posted a response on my site here with Rick Lemming's second message.
Rick Lemming (AKA ricklthefox) has been charged with two felony counts of cyberstalking Randi Naughton, a television anchor for Fox 2 News. He was arrested May 12 and just posted bond this past weekend. In addition to his supposed stalking, he is a convicted sex offender of a child under the age of 18 on two counts: CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT/FORCE and INDECENT SOLICITATION OF A CHILD<13/assault. [Info via Illinois State Police website - Sex Offender Registry]

While his previous actions do not necessarily prove that he might act in a similar manner again, they do make his current charges a bit more ominous. I refer to the statement made on the Illinois State Police website regarding this fact:
The information contained in the registry does not imply that listed individuals will commit a specific type of crime in the future, nor does it imply that if a future crime is committed by a listed individual what the nature of that crime may be. Illinois State Police makes no representation as to any offender's likelihood of re-offending.

Could this be a case where what you say (or write) on any website or in any e-mail might be used in a court of law?

I'm glad the police have followed up in this case and I hope that perhaps this might discourage those who might be tempted to do the same things in the future.
